I was able to summit Rainbow Peak for the second time on March 22nd, 2025. It was a beautiful ~40 degree early spring day. This peak is usually one of the first snowless peaks of the year and 2025 was no different. I was able to get to the top with minimal potholing. The view from the top is awesome!

The way up is pretty easy. There might be some 3rd class terrain on the ridge leading up to the headwall. I wouldn't be worried about taking anyone that is in decent physical shape up this one. They might be a little squeamish in a few spots if they don't like heights. Also, keep in mind that this is a popular spot for tourists. Tourists love kicking rocks down on the people below. Be careful out there!

There is one place where the trail Y's off and you can go right. On the way up I went climber's right and it led to excessive side-hilling and steeper climbing. Stick to the right, it goes!

Here is a view from the peak and parking lot. It is always fun to be able to see the car from the start!

The headwall leading up to the peak offers some decent scree surfing on the way down!
